Manchester United planning bid for Konrad Laimer
Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Bayern Munich versatile midfielder Konrad Laimer.
According to Florian Plettenberg, while the Red Devils admire Laimer’s recent performances, there’s no substantial movement toward a transfer at this stage.
Th 27-year-old Austrian, who rose through the ranks at Red Bull Salzburg, made his name at RB Leipzig before joining Bayern Munich in 2023. Known for his adaptability, he thrives as a central midfielder but can also operate as a right-back or defensive midfielder.
Despite Laimer’s versatility, he has struggled for consistent game time under Vincent Kompany, accumulating just 775 minutes across 17 appearances this season.
Manchester United see Laimer as a potential asset, adding depth to both midfield and full-back roles. However, no formal talks have been initiated, with the club prioritising other transfer targets to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad.
For now, Laimer remains committed to Bayern, valuing his role within the squad. Whether United’s interest materialises into a bid will depend on their future priorities and Bayern’s willingness to negotiate. It’s a situation to watch as the transfer window evolves.
