The Good Ship Murder filming thrown into chaos amid mass crew illness ahead of Christmas special and new series
THE Good Ship Murder’s filming was as choppy as the sea waters thanks to sickness.
The hit Channel 5 murder mystery drama that stars ex Coronation Street stars Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley is back for another series in the New Year.
Before that fans will be treated to a festive special this Christmas with new sinister plots, as well as its musical charm.
But lead to star Shayne, 40, has revealed sea sickness wreaked havoc while the crew tried to film the episodes.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, the singer-turned-actor said: “Touch wood. I’ve been OK. I don’t really get seasickness. I quite like the rocking of the ship at night, to be honest.
But a few people haven’t got the sea legs, especially when we, you know, there’s a lot of Maltese crew.
“We film everything in Malta and then film the rest of it in one month on the ship.
“So you get a lot of Maltese crew coming on there as well. They’re just used to being on land.
“There’s a few seasickness that keeps happening, but I’ve been pretty good.”
Fans will watch as Shayne’s character Jack Grayling attempts to rekindle his romance with Kate as the pair grow closer.
The festive episode is set to air on Channel 5 and My5 on Wednesday, December 18th at 9pm.
Earlier this year The Sun revealed how The Good Ship Murder had been renewed by bosses for a further two series.
Mike Benson, from makers Clapperboard, previously said: “Series one was something of a journey – or mid-price cruise – into the unknown, not least trying to film a drama on a cruise ship with 6,000 holidaymakers heading to eight different countries.”
C5 exec Paul Testar added: “We’re excited to be bringing this series back.”

PLOT
The Good Ship Murder follows former detective Jack Grayling who is living his best life working as an entertainer on a cruise ship.
There he meets First Officer Kate Woods, a woman in a man’s world, with plenty to prove.
Life on the ship is exciting and glamorous but there are jealousies, rivalries and deep divides hidden below the surface.
Things take a turn for the worst when the ship docks at its first port of call, only for a passenger to be found murdered.
This tragedy is followed by more murders and unlikely duo Jack and Kate must join together to solve the mysteries.
