Catholic Central opens league play with win over Lansingburgh
TROY, NY (NEWS10) -- The Catholic Central boys basketball team went 21-2 last season, and 13-0 in Colonial Council play. They looked to move to 2-0 this season, and begin league play in the win column at Lansingburgh on Tuesday night.
Both offenses sputtered in the first quarter, as Catholic Central managed to take a 9-7 lead after one. The Crusaders built their lead up to 19-7 in the second quarter.
The Knights were able to cut the lead to one late in the second, before the Crusaders took a 24-20 lead into halftime. Catholic Central pulled away in the second half, on their way to a 57-34 win.
Seimir Roberson led Catholic Central with 21 points.
