Accessing ice fishing on the Fox Chain O'Lakes

The Fox Chain O'Lakes area is the great destination for ice fishing by Chicago-area anglers. But public access is the challenge, here are some options:

Hermann's Rest-A-While (Nielsen's Channels), $5 parking, food, drink.

Musky Tales (Channel Lake), $5 parking includes trailers, open 24 hours, live bait, Time 2 Bite bar/restaurant (breakfast 6 a.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Lily Bug Acres (channel between Bluff and Spring lakes), $5 parking, bait shop, might have shuttle service later in season with a boat sleigh.

Sandbar Bar & Grille (Lake Marie), $10 parking or patronize.

Choppers Bar and Grill (Channel), $5 parking, taken off bill if you patronize.

Pelican Bay Marina (Marie), $5 parking, dropbox, plowed and lighted lot.

Turtle Beach Marina (Channel), $10 parking, car or trailer.

Oak Park Lounge (Pistakee Bay), $5 ($10 with trailer), park in top or middle lots.

Jack & Lydia's Resort (Deep Lake, one of last to freeze), $5 parking.

Anchor Pointe Marina (Marie), $10 per vehicle, open 24x7, dropbox or pay by card, vending machine.
