Elcina has requested a $8.57 billion support package from the Indian government to boost local production of electronic components and reduce reliance on imports. The industry body projects a $248 billion demand-supply deficit for components by 2030, and believes government support can reduce this deficit by $146 billion while creating 50 lakh jobs.
