GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Two Glens Falls natives are behind a new children’s book about a local Christmas tree’s journey from Queensbury to the Big Apple. "The 91st Tree from Queensbury” was written by Mary Jean DeSantis and illustrated by Anthony Richichi.

The book chronicles the story of the 2022 Rockefeller Christmas tree from its roots in Queensbury to its fame in 30 Rockefeller Center. This is the second time DeSantis and Richichi have worked together. The duo said they are on a mission to preserve a piece of its history through this story book.

"To have it be there and have it lit and have millions of people enjoy it, you know from our hometown of Queensbury is just very special," said DeSantis.

When the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was chosen from Queensbury it gained fans around the world. In 2022, a six-year-old girl named Delaney gained attention when the tree was cut down for her excitement and love for the tree. Delaney helped serve as inspiration for the children's book. The book can be purchased online.
