Two arrested in Albany on felony drug charges
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Parole officers and the Albany County Sheriff's Office arrested two Albany residents Tuesday night after a home visit. Shequan Canteen, 39, and Fasimba Paul, 45, face multiple drug charges.
On Tuesday around 9:58 p.m., parole officers conducted a house visit of a supervised person on Quail Street. Upon an investigation at the home, Canteen, who is currently on parole for previous weapon and drug charges, was reportedly found with about 10 grams of crack cocaine on him.
Another person in the house, Paul, was reportedly found with about 172 grams of cocaine and $18,000. Officers also allegedly found a digital scale in the home, which police said is commonly used for weighing and packaging narcotics, intended for sale and distribution.
Charges for Canteen:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor
Charges for Paul:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree, a class A-2 felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a class B felony
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor
Both were transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility as pre-arraigned detainees. They will be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Wednesday.
