Photos: Heavy lake effect storm takes aim at Southtowns

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Southtowns and northern Chautauqua County woke up on Thursday to heavy lake effect snow across the region.

The lake effect storm is bringing heavy localized snow to areas across Western New York, but especially south of Buffalo and northern Chautauqua County. A lake effect snow warning is in effect for Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus counties until 1 p.m. Friday, with 2-3 feet of snow possible in some areas.
