Tragedy struck Dindigul Thursday night as a fire engulfed City Hospital, claiming seven lives, including a child. The blaze, possibly caused by a short circuit in the reception area, rapidly spread through the four-story orthopedic facility. Six individuals trapped in a lift were rescued and are receiving treatment for suffocation. Around 29 patients were transferred to nearby government hospitals.
