Staten Island men arrested in Catskill for alleged drug possession
CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Two Staten Island men were arrested on felony drug charges after a traffic stop on the Thruway in the town of Catskill. Walter Harris, 38, and Johnny Mitchell, 35, face multiple drug charges.
On December 7, around midnight, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2021 Lexus ES350 for traffic violations. Upon an initial investigation at the stop, state police reportedly found the driver, Harris, and his passenger, Mitchell, to have about 2.2 kilograms of cocaine and over $3,200 cash on them.
Charges for both men:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the first degree, a class A-I felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with the intent to sell, in the third degree, a class B felony
Both men were arraigned before Judge William R. Jacobs on Thursday. Both were remanded to the Greene County Jail, where they are being held without bail.
