Mariah Carey joins Netflix's NFL Christmas Gameday
(KTLA) - More gifts are in store for Netflix users on Christmas Day. The streamer announced Thursday that Mariah Carey will kick off its first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday live with a performance of her holiday classic.
"Fresh off of her largest and most spectacular Christmas tour to date, Carey is set to dazzle fans this year with a taped performance of her record-breaking single, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You,'" Netflix announced in a media release. The announcement comes days after the song, released three decades ago, hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 15th week.
Carey isn't the only music superstar performing on the streamer on Christmas Day. Beyoncé will perform at halftime of the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans game. The performance is a meaningful one for the singer as she's from Houston.
The fun kicks off at 10 a.m. PST when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Kansas City Chiefs. Then at 1:30 p.m. PST, the Texans will host the Ravens.
