Albany woman pleads guilty in drug trafficking conspiracy
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Thursday, an Albany woman pleaded guilty to her role in a conspiracy to distribute drugs. Toqwanda Ketchmore, also known as "Quannie," 30, admitted to being a member of an organization that shipped marijuana and THC from Fresno, California, to the Capital Region.
Ketchmore admitted to receiving packages of marijuana shipped from a shipping store in Fresno at her then-home in Troy. She also admitted that the co-defendant, Dwight Singletary, sold marijuana branded as “Nutty Packs” and had an Instagram account in the name “nutty_packz,” which she followed.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, between November 2020 and May 2022, Ketchmore reportedly received 44 packages containing approximately 443 pounds of marijuana at her home. She was charged in an indictment with 23 other people.
16 other defendants have pleaded guilty to their involvement. In October, Lawrence Mumphrey, 45, of Albany, and Niara Banks, 32, of Troy, admitted to their involvement and in May 2023, Latrice Mumphrey and Victor Turner pleaded guilty to their involvement.
Defendants Dwight Singletary, David Singletary and McKenzie Merrialice Coles have pleaded not guilty to their charges. Ketchmore faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1 million and a probation sentence between 3 years and life.
