Actor Abhishek Bachchan recently purchased a Land Rover Defender 130, becoming the first Bollywood celebrity to own this model. The 48-year-old actor was spotted at a private airport in Mumbai with the new SUV, and a video capturing his arrival is circulating online.

In the clip, Abhishek is seen stepping out of the co-driver seat of the Defender 130, wearing chic attire. The vehicle, finished in Carpathian Grey with a contrasting Black roof, is an eye-catcher. While Land Rover offers the Defender in three variants 90 (short wheelbase), 110 (standard wheelbase), and 130 (long wheelbase) it seems the Bachchans prefer the expansive 130.

The Defender 130 is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine producing an impressive 500 horsepower, enabling the 2.5-ton SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, offering a top speed of 240 km/h.

Abhishek’s father, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, also owns a Defender 130. His SUV, finished in Sedona Red with a body-colored roof, features Style 5095 Diamond Turned Wheels. Amitabh purchased it as a birthday gift in October 2023, with a registration plate reading MH 02 GC 200.
Known for his careful driving style, his choice for busy Mumbai roads is commendable.
Amitabh’s Defender 130 is a 3.0D LWB HSE trim equipped with a 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain generates 296 hp and 650 Nm of torque. With an on-road price of ₹1.3 crore, the HSE trim offers extensive personalization options.
