Aldi slashes price of Laurent Perrier champagne dupe to just £8.19 a bottle just in time for Christmas

BARGAIN specialists Aldi have slashed the prices of their wines with a Laurent Perrier champagne dupe being the pick of the bunch.

The bottle is scanning at tills for just £8.19 and is already being tipped as the perfect Christmas drink.

Aldi are known for their incredible dupe deals on everything from chocolates to even fancy toys but their collection of discount wines are set to steal the show this festive period.

Dozens of sparkling, red, white and even sherries are on offer over the next few weeks across the UK with the champagne dupe topping the list.

The Specially Selected Cremant du Jura has already gone viral this year for its striking similarities to Laurent Perrier’s beloved bottles.

It was originally setting back shoppers £10.99 – still a bargain to many – but Aldi have now slashed it down even further down to just £8.19.

It comes in a fancy 75cl black bottle with gold trim and is already an award winner after scooping up at this years’s Drinks Business Sparkling Masters.

Wine professional Tom Gilbey uncorked the budget bottle of fizz and crowned it as this year’s supermarket stunner.

Tom shared the “absolute banger” of a tipple to his over 100,000 TikTok followers as he urged shoppers to run to their nearest store.

He labelled it the “go-to Christmas crémant” and praised it for its “zippy” taste.

With flavours of apple and citrus fruits, the fizz is described as having a “fresh, elegant finish.”

It is made in the same way as champagne but is actually 100 per cent chardonnay.

The typical bottle of Laurent Perrier will set back shoppers around £40 meaning Aldi’s offering is a real steal for savvy buyers.

One shopper who saw Tom’s TikTok was equally as impressed by the wine.

They wrote: “I clear the shelves of that crémant when it’s in stock! Delicious for the price.”

The discount is set to be available up until December 31.

In total, 60 bottles are a part of the bumper festive sale.

Also available in the selection are a wide variety of “cosy reds” and “crisp whites.”

“This collection has something for every palate and occasion,” the Aldi announcement read.

Wine fanatic Liam D’Arcy (@thewinewally) shared his thoughts on the brand’s £8.99 Specially Selected Rías Baixas Albariño.

“If you like really crisp refreshing white wines this is the one, I’m telling you,” he said in an Instagram reel.

Wine experts recommend enjoying a glass “alongside a warming winter seafood feast.”

“It’s the ultimate choice for those who crave crisp, clean flavours,” read the Aldi annoucement.

Also available in the new collection is the £9.99 Unearthed French Caladoc Rosé.

The drink is described as “pale pink and bursting with freshness, it offers delicate notes of red and white fruits with a whisper of red cherry on the finish.”

Experts recommend serving chilled with a “comforting autumn salad or a festive cheese board.” 

Aldi shoppers can also pick up a £7.75 Specially Selected Chianti Reserva.

Aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months, the wine is perfect for a cosy night in by the fire.

It is described as having a “smooth texture and enticing smoky notes” and “flavours of ripe cherry, raspberry, vanilla and a hint of spice.”
