Full list of iPhones compatible with Apple’s iOS 18.2 update and new AI features
Apple has released its latest update, iOS 18.2, which will give some users the chance to try out the tech giant’s new AI features.
The iPhone 16, launched in September, already came with the upgrade, although the AI features weren’t available until the following month.
Now, anyone with an iPhone that doesn’t predate the iPhone XS can download iOS 18.2, although only those with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 series will be able to use the new AI features.
These features include Image Playground, Genmoji and Visual Intelligence.
The new iOS 18.2 AI features
Image Playground allows users to generate digital artwork using prompts, descriptions or existing photos, while Genmoji offers them the chance to create custom emojis by describing what they want or by using existing images.
Visual Intelligence, which is only compatible with the iPhone 16 series, lets users point their camera at anything and get information via ChatGPT about it.
Those who don’t have a phone compatible with the AI features, will still be able to use the new phone call recorder, which creates transcriptions of the conversation in the notes app.
