Blanchard Elementary student fires resource officer's gun on playground
BLANCHARD, Okla. (KFOR) — Blanchard Public Schools says an elementary school student fired a student resource officer's gun while they were on the playground on Friday afternoon.
The student reportedly fired the gun into the ground while it was still in the officer's holster. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
The district says they are working with the McClain County Sheriff's Office to investigate the incident.

This afternoon on the elementary playground, a young student managed to access the Student Resource Officer’s secured firearm and discharge it within the SRO’s holster into the ground. Fortunately, no students, staff, or other individuals were harmed.
The situation was quickly contained, and the McClain County Sheriff's Office is conducting a thorough investigation with the assistance of Blanchard Public Schools. Safety is our top priority, and we are reviewing protocols to ensure this does not happen again.
We understand that this incident is deeply concerning, and we are grateful for the cooperation and understanding of our school community as we address this matter.
