Jennifer Love Hewitt Shared Her Thoughts on Sarah Michelle Gellar Feud Rumors
Jennifer Love Hewitt is insisting that there’s no truth to rumors she’s feuding with Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Days before Gellar stirred up rumors with an awkward red carpet interview, Hewitt spoke highly of her I Know What You Did Last Summer co-star while appearing on the I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario podcast.
“I just heard that there’s this whole thing where [people] think Sarah and I are fighting or something,” Hewitt said, referencing fan speculation online. When DiDario asked if she and Gellar were friends, Hewitt responded, “Totally, I mean all of us were in that experience together kind of figuring it all out.”
Hewitt also showed her support for Gellar’s husband Freddie Prinze Jr., who married the actress in 2002 after meeting on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer.
“I root for her and Freddie, and I think it’s the cutest thing in the world that they’ve been married for a hundred years and have kids. It’s adorable,” Hewitt said.
However, days after Hewitt’s comments, the internet once again began to speculate the co-stars were not on good terms.
While on the red carpet at the Dexter: Original Sin premiere, Gellar gushed about the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, praising the “incredible cast” and “fun script.” However, when asked about news Hewitt would be joining the project, the interview seemed to take a turn.
“I know Jennifer Love Hewitt said that she’s possibly returning,” an Extra TV journalist asked. “You can’t tell [us]?” Gellar silently shrugged before stepping back and saying she has “nothing to do with that.” She then walked away from the interview.
Gellar appeared in the first installment of the film franchise, alongside Hewitt, and met her husband on set. Prinze Jr. and Hewitt are set to reprise their roles alongside a new cast including Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders and Lola Tung.
