Researchers have taken an important step toward needle-free vaccines

Working with a bacterium that lives on human skin, Stanford bioengineer Michael Fischbach and his team created a topical vaccine that protected mice against tetanus. The findings could translate into a radical, needle-free vaccination approach that would also eliminate reactions like fever, swelling and pain.
