Lake District farm charges £350 a night for guests to stay in stables with horses

A quirky farm guest house in the Lake District is charging £350-a-night for people to stay in their lodging — and the neighbours are anything but ordinary.

The family-run farm has taken a page straight out of the Bible, where up to three guests can stay in one of their stables, complete with horses.

Guests can sleep over in a room shared with either a Friesian horse, or a little Shetland pony, separated by a divider.

That’s certainly a unique alarm clock (Picture: Jam Press/The Friesian Experience)

However, rather than lying on straw, the room is equipped with bunk beds lined with Egyptian cotton, making it a much more comfortable stay.

The guest house offers a ‘Friesian experience’, where people can bond with their new four-legged friends by grooming and feeding them.

There are 17 horses on the farm in total, who guests can meet while on their stay.

But there’s a catch – there is no room at the inn during December. However. there is still some availability in January for the horse lovers out there.

This isn’t the only interesting hotel that has made headlines recently.

Across the pond in Idaho, spud fans can sleep inside a giant baked potato.

The Big Idaho Potato Hotel, which is also on a farm, has been created inside of a giant spud (sadly, it’s not a real one), originally built for the Big Idaho Potato Tour.

The huge structure weighs six tonnes, and is made of steel, plaster and concrete.

The huge potato was driven around 48 states in America to raise awareness about Idaho’s most famous vegetable.

When the seven year tour (which was originally only meant to last one!) finally ended, the structure was transformed into a unique lodging, and was ‘planted’ in a farm.
