WPL Auction All Teams Full Squad: Defending champion RCB bought 4 players, 3 new faces came to UP and…
New Delhi: About three weeks after the rain of money in the IPL mega auction, the mini-auction of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) was also held. Obviously, the amount of money spent on players here was not as much as in the IPL auction, but the budget available with the 5 teams filled their empty slots. Many big players remained unsold this time, while a lot of money was showered on uncapped players. The high bids on 22-year-old Simran Sheikh (1.90 crores) and 16-year-old G Kamalini (1.60 crores) surprised everyone. In total, 19 players were bought this time and every team completed its squad.
Gujarat bought two most expensive players:
This time Gujarat Giants entered the auction with the highest budget and this franchise also bought the two most expensive players in the auction. As expected, West Indies’ veteran all-rounder Deandra Dottin was the subject of a fierce bid but Gujarat finally bought her for Rs 1.70 crore but the most surprising bid was on uncapped player Simran Sheikh.
