New Jersey eyes fee on oil and gas producers to fight climate change

TRENTON, New Jersey: Under a bill being considered in the New Jersey legislature, numerous oil and natural gas facilities situated on the outskirts of New York to the Delaware shoreline across from Philadelphia would be charged a fee to help the state fight the effects of climate change.

A new proposal in New Jersey aims to create a Climate Superfund to help clean up environmental damage caused by fossil fuels.
