How Tom Brady Reacted To Bill Belichick Accepting North Carolina Job

Tom Brady knows just what kind of team Bill Belichick can lead as a head coach. Brady operated six Super Bowl championships with Belichick during the New England Patriots dynasty.

Belichick made waves during the week with his momentous decision to become a college head coach and lead the North Carolina football program in the ACC.

Brady gave his thoughts on Belichick’s next chapter during FOX’s broadcast of Sunday’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles alongside play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt.

“Kind of blew me away when I heard the news,” Brady said. “I didn’t think that was an opportunity he was looking at. They’re getting, obviously, a tremendous coach. Being in that locker room (for as many year) as I did, those guys are going to play very hard. He’s going to coach them well. It’s a benefit for all those players going to that program because they’re getting the best coach the NFL has ever seen. Now, he’s at a college level.”

Brady and Burkhardt had a laugh at the recruiting and NIL responsibilities that come with a modern coaching job at the college level.

“He’s not the warmest and fuzziest of all time,” Brady joked.

Brady and Belichick both look forward to exciting opportunities in 2025. Brady will call Super Bowl LIX and Belichick leads the Tar Heels against TCU to begin the college football season next fall.
