India’s plan to introduce advanced 3D CT X-ray and full-body scanners at airports has been delayed as a high-powered committee evaluates their suitability. The committee is focused on tailoring these technologies to address India’s unique security challenges and cultural considerations. While this approach prioritises passenger comfort and security, it postpones the promised seamless airport experience. Implementation is now expected to start next year after equipment is customised to Indian requirements.
