Multiple deaths reported after school shooting in Wisconsin
A gunman has reportedly taken his own life after killing two others at a Christian school
A gunman killed at least two people and injured three more before turning his weapon on himself at a Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday, according to local news reports.
In a post on Facebook, the Madison Police Department said that it was investigating a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School, a private institution that teaches children from kindergarten up to 12th grade.
“Multiple injuries have been reported,” the department said, adding that “this remains an active and ongoing investigation” and that all roads around the school have been closed.
At least two people have been killed and three injured, local journalist Dan O’Donnell wrote on X, citing a law enforcement source. According to O’Donnell’s source, the gunman “is dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
Multiple students have been taken to local hospitals, while one staff member is being treated for a potentially fatal injury, CNN reported.
Video footage filmed outside the school showed a heavy presence of police and other emergency vehicles.

The incident took place six months after police shot and killed a 14-year-old who tried to break into a middle school in Mount Horeb, 20km (13 miles) from Madison. Prosecutors declined to press charges against the two officers who shot the teen, stating that he refused repeated requests to drop a realistic-looking air rifle he was holding.
