The Dolphins’ playoff hopes took a big hit Sunday, but that wasn’t Miami’s biggest concern coming out of its Week 15 loss in Houston.
The focus was on Grant DuBose, who left the NRG Stadium turf on a stretcher in the third quarter. DuBose was attempting to reel in a pass from Tua Tagovailoa when he took a massive hit from Texans safety Calen Bullock across the middle. The game was paused for roughly 12 minutes while medical professionals tended to the second-year wideout, who had his jersey cut off and his helmet removed before he exited the stadium.
The Dolphins put out a statement shortly after the incident and revealed DuBose was in stable condition when he arrived at a nearby hospital. After the game, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel revealed there was “positive feedback” from the imaging on DuBose’s head and neck, but the 23-year-old stayed in Houston overnight to receive further examinations, per ESPN.
Sunday marked DuBose’s third game with the Dolphins, who claimed the 2023 seventh-round pick off waivers in late August after he was released by the Green Bay Packers. The Charlotte product hadn’t played since Week 2 when he sustained a shoulder injury that put him on injured reserve.
