Flint Hills restaurant at historic ranch to shut down
ELMDALE (KSNT) - A restaurant located in the Flint Hills at a historic ranch announced it is shutting down before the end of the year.
The Cliff, located in Elmdale, posted to social media on Friday, Dec. 13 that it will be closing after Dec. 21, 2024. People who wish to enjoy the restaurant one last time or use their gift cards before it shuts down are encouraged to visit The Cliff prior to its final day of operation.
"The restaurant has been a fun ride, and we have been blessed & overwhelmed by everyone’s support & encouragement this past year. We have learned a lot & it has been a joy to serve all of you. We had planned & hoped to add another dimension to our existing business - The Clover Cliff Bed & Breakfast. However, it has become apparent that with all that goes on with the BnB, weddings & events, we cannot add another business to that mix."
The Cliff social media statement excerpt
The Cliff was known for having specialized dishes that included bison meat put together by Chef Jacob Holmes. The restaurant was attached to the historic Clover Cliff Ranch, established in the late 1800's, which is due to be featured in an upcoming movie on the Flint Hills of Kansas.
People visiting the ranch can still expect to find the bed and breakfast operating as usual. You can learn more about The Cliff by clicking here.
