Schenectady man charged with child sex abuse image possession
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police reported the arrest of a Schenectady man as a result of a sex crime investigation. Jianni Ackerman, 19, was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Ackerman is accused of owning images depicting the sexual exploitation of children. He was taken into custody on December 13 when law enforcement executed a search warrant at his Schenectady home after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Ackerman was released after being issued an appearance ticket for December 20 at the Schenectady City Court. The Department of Homeland Security assisted state police with the investigation.
