12/16/2024: Snow ends, rain arrives tonight

The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:

Just a little slippery out there this morning! One to three inches of snow fell across much of our region overnight.

Roads will get much better as the day progresses and temperatures warm to around 40 for much of the region. It will be mostly dry for the remainder of the day, though we don't expect a ton of sun.

Tonight, the next round of precipitation arrives in the form rain. Temperatures stay well above freezing for almost all of us, with only the highest mountaintops seeing wintery conditions.

Showers wrap up tomorrow morning. The rest of the day looks warm and breezy with highs near 50. Rain returns Wednesday evening, possibly changing to wintry mix or snow as temperatures fall overnight and into Thursday morning.

Light snow showers are possible along with cooler temperatures on Friday. Saturday looks quiet but colder for the official start of the winter season. Sunday will be very cold, with afternoon highs barely above 20! Get those coats ready!
