After guiding Southampton at the expense of Leeds to gain a place in the Premiership
The achievement is forgotten after games into the season and a manager that did well
has now been let go, not because he is a bad manager, its more to do with the amount of investment in
the squad that has been lacking that puts the team in the bottom half of the table.
Its laughable but an unfortunate truth when a manager achieves promotion and then finds themselves with quality opposition on a weekly basis, but the squad is just not good enough.
So how is better to discard the guy that got you there for a new manager that will require money
for transfers to improve the squad. A new vision, a new direction. Its not about loyalty especially
managers… Its money and to maintain the premiership status.
Somehow as a supporter of football and whats fair, it would be justice for Southampton to drop like a stone back to the championship while Russell Martin takes over another championship squad and waves to them as they both swap divisions…..
