Boy arrested, accused of threatening to 'shoot up' school, according to Calcasieu authorities

CALCASIEU PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A 13-year-old boy was arrested this morning after allegedly threatening to shoot up a middle school, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.
The boy, who was not identified by authorities, faces one count of terrorizing-menacing.
In a news release, the sheriff's office said deputies went to Oak Park Middle School around 10:30 a.m. in response to a reported threat.
"During the investigation, it was learned a 13-year-old made a threat to bring a gun to school and shoot up the school. During further investigation, the boy confirmed he made the threat," the sheriff's office said in the news release.
The boy was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
