Father stole ice-cream, cake ‘for my child’
His child’s enjoyment was at the heart of why a St Philip man said he stole ice-cream and cake from a supermarket.
When Bradley Sylvester Kemar Phillips, of Sealy Hill, East Point, first appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court on December 7, he pleaded guilty to stealing a box of ice-cream and a slice of cake belonging to Start Apple Incorporated, trading as Emerald City Supermarket. The items were worth $41.90.
The conductor, 33, had been released on $1 500 bail over that weekend and returned before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes for sentencing last week Monday.
Phillips was placed on a bond to keep the peace for three months. If he breaches it, he will have to pay $1 000 forthwith, or alternatively, spend 60 days in prison. (SD)
