Taco Bell Is Serving Up a Fast Food Staple With a Mexican Twist

Taco Bell is best known for its Mexican-inspired menu options, but its latest limited-time offering is more likely to be seen at competitors like McDonald's and Burger King. 

Starting Dec. 19, Taco Bell stores across the country will begin selling its new Crispy Chicken Nuggets while supplies last. But these aren't your typical fast food nuggets, as the chicken bites are marinated in a jalapeño buttermilk flavor and breaded with a blend of tortilla chips and breadcrumbs. And you won't have to eat them dry either; Taco Bell is also rolling out three new dipping sauces for customers, including the new Hidden Valley Fire Ranch Sauce as well as the signature Bell Sauce and sweet and hot Jalapeño Honey Mustard Sauce.

"As the inventors of Nacho Fries, Taco Bell is fully aware that reinventing an American classic with a Taco Bell twist is a responsibility we don’t take lightly. But in a world dominated by chicken cravings, it was time to show the world how Taco Bell does chicken nuggets—unexpected and undeniably bold," Taco Bell Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery said in a statement. "The Crispy Chicken Nuggets deliver a crispier, more flavorful nugget experience, and combined with the Hidden Valley Fire Ranch Sauce, we hope it will test people’s devotion to their favorite nuggets."

The nuggets will be available to order in three different ways: À la carte, as a combo, and as a deluxe meal. If you just want the meat, you can order a five-piece nugget with one dipping sauce or a 10-piece nugget with two dipping sauces. The same is available for the combos in addition to an order of Nacho Fries, nacho cheese sauce, and a large fountain drink. And if you want to go all out with the deluxe meal, you'll get a five-piece nugget and one dipping sauce along with a crunchy taco, beef chalupa, Nacho Fries, and a medium fountain drink.
