Aaron Rogers Says He ‘Didn’t Do Myself Any Favors’ With Public Romances

In the new Netflix docuseries Aaron Rogers: Enigma, now streaming, the titular sports star gets candid about his high-profile romantic relationships (via People) and how he “didn’t do myself any favors with some of the girls I’ve dated.”

In the second episode, Rogers speaks at length about how the attention he began receiving off the field following his 2010 Super Bowl win was more than he bargained for in his career. “I always find it interesting when people say, in reference to the off-the-field attention, ‘Well, this is what you signed up for,’” Rodgers reflects over a montage of him meeting former President Barack Obama and yucking it up with David Letterman on The Late Show.

“I say f--k that, I never signed up for that,” he continued. “I signed up for football because I love the game and I got great at it because I’m hyper-competitive and super-motivated. But there’s this whole other part that comes with it that’s a lot of great stuff and a lot of f--king weird stuff.”

That “weird stuff” presumably has to do with the media’s coverage of his romantic partnerships, which include dalliances with Danica Patrick, Olivia Munn, and Shailene Woodley. “I didn’t do myself any favors with some of the girls I dated after that that were in the public eye,” he admitted in the documentary.

Rogers dated Munn from 2014 until 2017 before taking up with Patrick in 2018. They split in 2020, the same year Rogers began dating Woodley. He and the Divergent star announced their engagement in 2021, but called it off the following year.

“I definitely hated it at first—like, really despised it,” Rodgers continued about the public attention. “I enjoyed my private life. I enjoyed being able to go places. But [after the] Super Bowl MVP, MVP, State Farm commercials, that got a little bit more difficult.”
