Horses stolen then returned, one suspect arrested

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Four horses were stolen and now returned at an Oklahoma City property. One person was arrested for the crime.

On Sunday morning, Oklahoma City Police got the call. The police report explains the victim told police their camera caught the movement of the horses around 10:45 p.m. the night before.

However, five minutes later, the camera started shaking and turned off.

On the north side of the property, police said the fence had been cut so the suspect could go in and take the horses.

In the police report, the victim said the horses had just been brought to the property the day they were taken and the victims believe the suspects may have seen the horses while driving by, before stealing them.

The arrest affidavit explains that 18-year-old Kenneth Colston stole one of the horses on December 12 and traded the horse in Stroud.

It later explains Colston and two others snuck back onto the property two days later through the cut fence and stole the other three horses.

In the affidavit, Colston admitted to walking the horses nearly two miles away to Spencer.

Colston was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail. He is the only person who was arrested in connection to the crime so far.

News 4 is working to find out if more arrests will be made.

All of the horses were found and returned to the owners.
