Rayne man arrested, accused of attempted murder after shooting on Osage Trail Road
ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A 35-year-old Rayne man was arrested in connection with a Friday shooting on Osage Trail Road, where authorities say a home was gunned down.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Michael James Mouton. Mouton faces charges including attempted first-degree murder, assault by a drive-by shooting, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a dangerous weapon.
"During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect, who is the estranged boyfriend of
the resident, fired multiple shots at the victim's residence, then fled the area. The bullets
struck the residence which was occupied by multiple people," the sheriff's office said in the news release.
No individuals were struck by gunfire, authorities said.
