Windham Mountain Club to offer flights to, from Manhattan
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Helicopter flights from Manhattan to and from the Windham Mountain Club will soon be offered. The first flight, departing from West 30th Street in Manhattan, is set for Friday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m.
Windham Moutain Club has collaborated with BLADE to create this transportation service. BLADE is an urban air travel company transporting people between Manhattan and local airports or small-distance travel between cities.
"Windham Mountain Club and BLADE have partnered on the first-ever scheduled city-to-slopes helicopter route for New Yorkers, with flights beginning December 20, Windham Mountain Club said in a statement.
"Taking away the biggest pain point of skiing in the Northeast — the long tedious drive — savvy skiers and snowboarders will be transported between NYC and Windham in just 45 minutes," Windham Mountain Club continued.
45-minute flights to the ski club will happen every weekend between December and March. Air travel costs $695 per seat for a one-way trip and $295 for children under the age of 12, according to the BLADE website. After the first trip, the flights will be each Thursday and Sunday in an Excel: Bell 407 helicopter.
Windham Mountain Club offers 54 trails, 11 lifts, 6 restaurants and a snow tubing park. Along with flights, BLADE and Windham will be offering two luxury getaway packages.
The packages include roundtrip helicopter service, luxury accommodations at The Henson and access to all of Windham's members-only amenities. Packages start at $6,500.
- Ultimate Ascent with BLADE (Starting at $6,500):
- A curated experience including three nights at The Henson, roundtrip BLADE helicopter transport from N.Y.C., priority lift passes with private members-only lines, premium local transportation, ski valet services, full access to members-only amenities including dining, spa, fitness and adventure concierge.
- VIP Getaway with BLADE (Starting at $11,600):

Chartered flights outside the regular schedule will also be available for those who want to hit the slopes earlier in the week. However, those flights will be booked on an as-needed basis.
In the case of inclement weather that could prevent air travel, BLADE will also offer a backup car service to drive people to the mountain at a discounted price.
