APD identifies person found in Lady Bird Lake in early December

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Police have identified the woman who was found dead in Lady Bird Lake earlier this month.
The Austin Police Department posted a release Wednesday saying the person found by a kayaker in Lady Bird Lake near Brazos Street on Dec. 1 was Thi Lang Nguyen, 73.
After asking for the public's health to reach Nguyen's next of kin, APD said they found a connection in an updated release Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the incident is an ongoing death investigation with no foul play suspected.
Detectives needed to identify her next of kin to pass that information along to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office and the APD Victim Services Unit to help facilitate her burial, the release stated.
