Why 'Ghosts' Won't Return with New Episodes Until 2025

Ghosts is airing a new episode tonight, but will then be taking six weeks off from new episodes!

The hit CBS comedy TV show is actually airing a one-hour long Christmas special tonight, titled “A Very Arondekar Christmas,” and it’s kicking off at 8pm ET. Here’s the synopsis: A leaky water heater mishap threatens to ruin holiday plans as Sam and Jay prepare to host Jay’s hard-to-please dad, Mahesh (Bernard White), difficult-to-impress mom, Champa (Sakina Jaffrey), and sister Bela (Punam Patel).

However, after tonight’s special episode, the show will be on hiatus until late January 2025.

So, what’s the reason for the extended time off?

It’s actually normal for shows to take breaks during December and early January. Many TV shows air fall finales and take a hiatus during the winter holidays, and that is what the Ghosts is doing this year!

New episodes will return on Thursday, January 30 at 8:30 pm ET.
