Hungary to challenge EU court fine over asylum policy compliance
BUDAPEST, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Hungarian government has announced plans to contest what it called an "outrageous and unacceptable" fine of 200 million euros (207.3 million U.S. dollars) imposed by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) earlier this year.
The fine, coupled with a daily penalty of 1 million euros, stems from Hungary's alleged failure to comply with the European Union (EU) asylum regulations.
