THE UK’s biggest supermarket is selling tubs of Cadbury’s Hetos for the lowest price on shelves right now.

Tesco has slashed the price from £6 to £4.50 for Clubcard holders, giving loyal shoppers the chance to save 25%.

If you do not have a Clubcard then you will have to £6, which is the same price that rivals Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, and Ocado are currently charging.

Asda is also charging £6 if you want to buy a single 550g tub or is running an offer where shoppers can pick up two for £9.

The offer is available across all Christmas tubs, including Celebrations, Roses and Quality Street.

Tesco’s offer is running until December 22 and is also available on other classic chocolate tubs.

But if you want to pick up a tub of Quality Street for cheap, then Aldi is your best bet.

The German discounter has slashed the cost to only £3.95 for a 600g tub, making it the best deal for UK shoppers.

Shoppers are encouraged to get to their nearest store as soon as they can in time for Christmas.

There’s a limited time to make the saving, with the offer on from the 20 to 23 December – meaning shoppers only have three days to grab a tub.

Plus they’re not available online – only in-store.

Meanwhile, if you are on the hunt for a tub of Celebrations,  Co-op has slashed the price of the festive chocolate to £4 for members and £5.50 for non-members.

It rivals the likes of Tesco who is charging loyalty card members £4.50 for the same 550g tub.

Asda is asking customers to pay £6 for the tub and so is Sainsbury’s.

The retailer is offering a discount on the chocolate selection until December 27.

To get the discount you will need to sign up to become a Co-op member, which can be done online and it costs £1.

It comes as shoppers will be looking to stock up on festive treats ahead of Christmas.

Asda has slashed the price of a Toblerone large milk chocolate bar (360g) to just £3.

MORE CHOCOLATE OFFERS

Poundland has slashed the price of a Terry’s Milk Chocolate Ball to just 75p, making it the best offer around

Elsewhere, for less than £1, bargain hunters could nab the deal which includes Dairy Milk ButtonsChomp Bar, FreddoCurly Wurly and Fudge

To top it all off, the perfect gift box has been decorated to feature a Santa, reindeer, a present and snow.

Aldi is selling 78g of Cadbury’s chocolate for 99p, the box includes various Treatsize and regular options.

SHOPPING FOR THE BEST BARGAINS

When hunting for a deal it is important to shop around to make sure you are not being overcharged.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.

Price Spy also logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including ArgosAmazoneBay and the supermarkets.

Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
