HOLLYWOOD A-lister’s hit comedy is renewed by TV bosses just a month after the series one finale ends.
The hit show originally debuted on Apple‘s streaming service and was based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen.
Vince starred in a host of comedy films including the smash hit Wedding Crashers[/caption] Vince was honoured with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, timed to the world premiere of the first series of Bad Monkey[/caption] Bad Monkey season two has just been renewed by Apple Tv+[/caption]Apple TV+ has given a Season 2 renewal to hit comedy Bad Monkey which stars Hollywood star Vince Vaughn.
Bill Lawrence developed Bad Monkey for television and season two will be an original story inspired by the original author’s work.
Bill said: “I hope that people know that Carl Hiaasen is an idol of mine and an inspiration for me as a writer
“To get to go on telling his story with Vince Vaughn and this great cast, at least the characters who are still alive, is very exciting.
“I’m very thankful to our partners at Apple TV+ and Warner Bros, as well as the entire team that helps bring this show to life.”
The series centres around Andrew Yancy played by Vince, who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a restaurant inspector in the Keys.
But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in.
He is then pulled into a world of greed and corruption that decimates the land and environment in both Florida and The Bahamas.
“Since Bad Monkey first made its debut on Apple TV+, this highly entertaining series became an instant fan-favorite,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+.
“Led by the incomparable Vince Vaughn as ‘Andrew Yancy,’ alongside a brilliant ensemble cast, we can’t wait for everyone to experience more hilarious, sun-soaked, beachy misadventures from the mind of Bill Lawrence.
“As the temperature rises even further in the next chapter of this engrossing murder-mystery.”
Vince is known for starring as a leading man in numerous comedy films during the late 1990s and 2000s.
He made his film debut in the sports drama film Rudy then followed that with the smash hit comedy Swingers.
A host of films followed including Old School, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Wedding Crashers, The Break-Up, Fred Claus, Four Christmases and Couples Retreat (2009).
He also acted in other drama films such as The Locusts, Domestic, Hacksaw Ridge and Freaky.
On television, among other roles, he starred as career criminal Frank Semyon in the second season of the HBO anthology crime drama television series True Detective.
He also appeared in the HBO comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm.
There is no date yet as to when his new series of Bad Monkey might air in the UK.
