Pell Chandelier

The Pell Chandelier is a minimalist lighting fixture by the New York-based design practice, Studio Luddite. An adaptation to the ceiling pendant within the studio’s debut collection, the Pell Chandelier is a fully customizable fixture that celebrates Studio Luddite’s devotion to material experimentation and craftsmanship. 

The chandelier features a series of suspended globes arranged in an asymmetrical formation, descending from cylindrical stems made of stacked leather disks. The varying lengths of these stems enhance the fixture’s dynamism and create a captivating visual rhythm. 

The fixture’s use of leather disks demonstrates the studio’s innovative approach to unconventional materials. By intentionally leaving the leather’s edges exposed and untreated, the design highlights the material’s raw, natural beauty and accentuates its inherent characteristics. These earth-toned leather stems, combined with the fixture’s glowing orbs and a sleek metal framework, add to the Pell Chandelier’s sense of drama and intimacy in interior spaces.

Both experimental and sophisticated in design, the Pell Chandelier bridges industrial and organic elements, embodying Studio Luddite’s philosophy of thoughtful, innovative lighting design.
