Adams says Dems 'missed the memo' on migrant crisis and it hurt the party

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Mayor Eric Adams sat down with PIX on Politics host Dan Mannarino for an exclusive year-end interview, looking back at what was undoubtedly a very eventful 2024 and ahead to what’s in store for 2025.

The interview took place on the same day his former chief advisor was indicted on bribery charges. Adams discusses that, his own indictment, and the biggest headlines of 2024, including the migrant crisis and its impact on the Democratic Party, sanctuary city laws, and the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting case. 

When asked about the president and Democratic Party’s handling of the migrant crisis, the mayor said they “missed the memo on migrants and asylum seekers.”

“I went to Washington 10 times and shared, ‘This is what people are saying on the street,’ and they wrote it off as well that’s just a New York issue, but it wasn’t … all of these major democratic cities were feeling this crunch, and they missed the memo, and it’s a major impact on these cities – a long-term impact,” Adams said.
