See it: Snow falls on the first day of winter in NYC
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Snow blanketed New York City on Saturday morning, fitting for the first official day of winter.
Light snow is expected to continue throughout the morning with an accumulation of about one inch before tapering off just before midday, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters issued a hazardous weather outlook for northeastern New Jersey and southeastern New York. A warning from NotifyNYC told motorists to drive slowly and use caution while traveling.
Despite the snow, the weather has not impacted flights during the holiday travel rush.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the mid-20s to lower 30s.
