Excavations in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, have unearthed evidence suggesting a Hindu temple was allegedly destroyed and converted into an Islamic structure. A tunnel, treasure, and a historical stepwell were discovered, supporting claims of the temple's prior existence. The ASI is surveying the site and will submit a report. Officials estimate the stepwell to be over 150 years old.
