14-year-old seriously wounded in South Chicago shooting
A 14-year-old boy was seriously wounded in a shooting Monday morning in South Chicago on the South Side.
Around 9:50 a.m., the boy was walking in the 8000 block of South Escanaba Avenue when a black Nissan Altima approached and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.
The teen was shot in the body and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in serious condition, police said. His condition was reportedly stabilized.
The Altima fled south on Escanaba Avenue and no one was in custody.
