Tottenham forward admits two clubs have sent offers to him – Journalist
Brazilian journalist Thiago Asmar reveals that he has spoken directly to Richarlison about the possibility of returning to his home country in January, with the striker giving a definitive answer about his and Tottenham’s plans.
Richarlison is on the radar of several Brazilian sides
It has been widely reported over the past couple of weeks that Fluminense are keen on taking Richarlison back to the club.
In fact, Fluminense’s president Mario Bittencourt himself confirmed a few days ago that he has been in contact with Spurs and the player over a deal.
Meanwhile, Flamengo have also reportedly made a move for the 27-year-old, but the Lilywhites have informed the club to double their €20m (£16.6m) bid if they wish to get the striker.
Journalist reveals what Richarlison has said
Thiago Asmar has now revealed in his latest X post (as translated by Sport Witness) that he has heard from the striker himself about the transfer rumours about his future.
The journalist says that the Tottenham man has had offers from Fluminense and Flamengo, while Corinthians, Palmeiras and Vasco da Gama have also made contact to ask about his situation.
However, Richarlison allegedly ‘assured’ Asmare that Tottenham have ‘were direct in rejecting’ any possible negotiations in January.
He adds that Ange Postecoglou‘s men consider the striker an ‘important’ part of their plans and will not let him go midway into the season.
Spurs will be taking a risk by selling Richarlison in January
Even if Tottenham were to bring another attacker through the door, Postecoglou would not want to let Richarlison go midway into the season.
Having seen the squad struggle with injuries during his tenure, the Australian will be wary of leaving himself short of options in attack during the business end of the season.
