Holiday spirits are high in NYC despite the frigid cold temps
SUNNYSIDE, Queens (PIX11) -- PIX11’s Greg Mocker was rockin’ around the Christmas tree with New Yorkers on Monday ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Cold temperatures turned the fountain into an ice sculpture at Bryant Park as thousands of people strolled along the holiday market and ice skating rink.
Meanwhile, small businesses across New York City hoped to attract last-minute shoppers.
In Sunnyside, Queens, the Business Improvement District works with local shops all season. Sunnyside Shines has hosted markets in December, connecting local businesses with holiday shoppers.
They're also celebrating new businesses and growth along 47th Avenue. Curley's Bagels on the corner of 43rd Street and Masa Madre Bakery on 46th Street opened this year.
Special holiday treats and orders bring in business for the year ahead.
Last-minute gift ideas include gift cards, holiday bagels, and cookies.
