Tiger Woods & Ex-Wife Elin Nordegren Show How Far Their Relationship Has Come After Dramatic Split
It’s hard to forget Tiger Woods’ affair scandal from November 2009 that took over every headline. The legendary golfer, who had a pristine image until then, crashed his SUV into a neighborhood fire hydrant after his then-wife Elin Nordegren allegedly chased him outside with a 9-iron. That’s when the stories of his ongoing infidelities became worldwide news.
The photogenic couple seemed to have the perfect life, but their storied romance was anything but dreamy. Woods had been unfaithful to the former nanny, who was not only his wife, but the mother of his two children, Sam, 17, and Charlie, 15. Woods had a long-term affair with Rachel Uchitel along with at least a dozen other women who came forward. By August 2010, Woods had completed a stint in rehab for sex addiction and the former golden couple of golf finalized their divorce.
Fast forward to 2024 and things look much different now. With their son’s PGA career starting to heat up (See his hole-in-one moment from Sunday, Dec. 22!), fans got a glimpse of where Woods and Nordegren’s relationship stands today — and it’s a much happier tale. Even though Woods and Charlie lost the 2024 PNC Championship, the family was in great spirits after the teen’s career milestone. The golfer and his ex-wife were spotted by Golf on CBS embracing in a warm hug with Sam, who was their caddie, looking on. It’s a blended family who has put the past behind them.
Nordegren, who is now married to former NFL player Jordan Cameron and shares three children with him, son Arthur, 5, and daughters Zeta, 2, and Freya, born in 2024, fiercely guards her privacy. She made one rare exception in 2014 when she was the commencement speaker at Rollins College. It took her nine years to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology, but she finally had something to say.
She joked about taking a Communication and the Media class, “I was unexpectedly thrust into the media limelight. I probably should have taken more notes in that class!” Nordegren had a sense of humor about the horrible time she went through which likely was a sign that she and Woods had moved on to a better place as co-parents.
Woods, who is currently single, is having a proud dad moment after Charlie’s ace this weekend. “It’s one of the highlights that we’ve ever had,” Woods said to NBC Sports. “We were talking on the hole previous; he made his first eagle. And now he just made his first hole-in-one. It was a magical two-hole stretch. I’m just so happy for him and for the enjoyment that we had as a family.”
It’s a happy blended family!
