All Ring doorbell owners can unlock special Christmas upgrade today for a limited time – it only takes 30 seconds
RING owners can add a bit of festive fun to their doorstep for guests visiting this Christmas.
The Amazon-owned company has brought back special messages which greet anyone knocking at the door for a limited time.
The voice of the Grinch is among the Smart Replies available at the moment[/caption] Special messages only available for a limited time[/caption]These include festive greetings but also a fun surprise too.
You can choose from six cheeky messages from the famous Grinch.
Quick Replies are there for when you can’t immediately get to the door.
“Seasonal messages don’t last forever!” Ring warns.
“They’ll go away when the season ends.
“If you’re using one at that time, the standard ‘we can’t answer the door…’ message will be selected.”
You can choose from one of the following festive messages:
- Hey! Happy Holidays, we’ll be right there.
- Merry Christmas! We’re a little, wrapped up at the moment. Leave us a message.
- Hi! Happy Hanukkah! Leave us a message.
- Ho Ho Ho Ho, question for you… are you on my nice list or naughty list? Either way, leave a message
- Ho Ho Ho, Happy Holidays! If you’d like to leave a message, you can do it now.
The Grinch messages are:
- A visitor? To this house? MAX! Ugh, fine. They’ll be right there.
- Sing songs and bake cookies?! Thank goodness, now you can do it. They’ll be right there.
- Oooh look who it is! Good, now you can enjoy the festive cheer. They’ll be there in a bit.
- Hello? There’s a bit of a snafu in the kitchen – ooh, my eyes are stinging! Leave a message
- Hello, it’s the Grinch – leave a message after the weird sound I’m about to make.
- Oh my word, so much smiling and laughter. I gotta get outta here. Leave a message.

Otherwise, you can still select Smart Replies for free – and watch people’s reactions live through the app.
To change your Ring doorbell’s Smart Reply follow these instructions:
- Open the Ring app
- Tap on the device you want to add a Smart Reply to
- Tap the settings cog icon in the top right
- Find Smart Responses
- Ensure Quick Replies is switched on
- Tap Quick Reply Message below
- Select the message you want to set
- Hit Save to finish
Ant and Dec on your Ring doorbell
When the Christmas period is over and you need to change your Ring doorbell Smart Reply there are a number of options.
Rather than using the generic messages, you might fancy a celebrity to greet your visitors instead.
Earlier this year, Ring recruited family favourites Ant and Dec to record special messages.
These include things like “a very large package” and “too busy watching telly”.
So you might want to select one of these from the same settings listed above.
